Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update 9am 24/03/20

The Hunstanton Lawn Tennis Tournament committee is closely monitoring the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

In addition to advice issued, and continually updated, by the UK Government, specific tennis-related information and guidance is being issued and also regularly updated by the Lawn Tennis Association, the All England Lawn Tennis Club (Wimbledon Championships) and other organisations.

The latest Lawn Tennis Association advice (9am Tuesday 24th March 2020) says “At this stage we would encourage organisers not to cancel competitions that are due to take place post 20 April and further into the summer season, in the hope that the situation may improve and these competitions will be able to go ahead.”

The All England Lawn Tennis Club said in a statement (March 17, 2020): “At this time, we continue to plan for The Championships and the grass court season, While we continue to plan for The Championships at this time, it remains a continuously evolving situation and we will act responsibly, in the best interests of wider society.”
